sound.jpg
The Sound Designer is an Artist that is brought in during the production stages of planning. The Sound designer will meet up with the Composer. They'll study the script and assemble as much information that they can to get on the characters. The Sound designer will have to get together with not only the Director but also the Design team, to get a clear understanding of the film, production or play. The sound must relate back to the narritive thematic needs of the film.

Sound is a very important part of the film as it had the ability to convey loads of emotions examples of this would be:

  • motivate actions and indicate events taking place offstageimagesCA9W6C87.jpg
  • establish the time of day, season and weather
  • locate the action in a specific place
  • create mood and changes in mood
  • stimulate audience expectations of what is to come
  • provide information about the characters
  • build transitions between scenes
  • offer shortcuts that rapidly advance the plot or recall past events

The stages that the Sound Designer is needed in is all threee pre-production, production and post production. This is becuaes they need to meet up with the driector and the design team to discuss the the interpretation of the film and how the scene needs to feel, in the movie. the Sound Desgner also needs to work with the composer to make sure that the music and sound work in together well, so the one doesn't take out the other. These are all very important because if there is no communication between the three of them then the final product might not sound right. So more stress for the sound designer and the movie will get relaesed later.
